Early Life and Career

Salma Hayek Pinault was born on September 2, 1966, in Coatzacoalcos, Mexico. Her father is of Lebanese descent, and her mother is of Spanish descent. Hayek began her acting career in Mexico in the early 1990s, appearing in telenovelas and films. In 1995, she moved to Hollywood and made her English-language debut in the film Desperado.

Rising to Stardom

Hayek's breakout role came in 2002 when she starred in the film Frida, for which she received an Academy Award nomination for Best Actress. She has since gone on to star in a variety of films, including Once Upon a Time in Mexico, Bandidas, and Eternals. In addition to her acting career, Hayek is also a director and producer. She has directed films such as The Maldonado Miracle and Beatriz at Dinner.
