Winners Announced at Glittering Los Angeles Ceremony

Top Honors Go to Drake, Rihanna, and Justin Bieber

The 2016 American Music Awards (AMAs) culminated in a star-studded ceremony on Sunday night in Los Angeles. The event celebrated the best in music across a wide range of genres, with top artists taking home coveted awards.

Drake emerged as the biggest winner of the night, securing three AMAs including Artist of the Year, Top Artist in Rap/Hip-Hop, and Top Male Artist in Rap/Hip-Hop. Rihanna, who performed live at the ceremony, also scored two awards for Favorite Female Artist in Soul/R&B and Favorite Song in Soul/R&B for "Work."

Justin Bieber, despite his absence from the ceremony, picked up two awards: Top Male Artist in Pop/Rock and Top Album in Pop/Rock for his album "Purpose." The Weeknd was crowned Favorite Male Artist in Soul/R&B, while Ariana Grande won Favorite Female Artist in Pop/Rock.

Other notable winners included Beyoncé, who took home the AMA for Top Female Artist in Soul/R&B, and Twenty One Pilots, who won the award for Favorite Artist in Alternative Rock. The xx were recognized with the award for Favorite Duo or Group in Alternative Rock, while Adele won Favorite Album in Soul/R&B for her blockbuster album "25."

The AMAs also honored several music legends, including Prince, who received the Icon Award posthumously. Garth Brooks was inducted into the AMA Hall of Fame, while Stevie Wonder was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award.

The 2016 American Music Awards showcased the diversity and talent of the music industry, recognizing the achievements of both established and emerging artists.
